They Tried to Steal From Me...
... and I nearly let them.
The takedown came out of the blue.
My confidence shattered, faster than a sugar-glass window in a gingerbread house.
My power, handed over on a silver platter.
Almost.
They were angry.
Laughing at me, venomously.
Mocking my audacity.
They nearly won.
Almost got their own way.
Until I paused, took a deep breath, and realised…
These are not the people I listen to.
Their words are not my truth.
Their beliefs are not my facts.
I turned to face them, looked them square in the eye…
Stood a bit straighter…
Spoke the words from my soul, resolutely…
You are my shadow.
I see you.
I thank you.
I reject you.
I will not be ruled by the negative voices in my head.
They met me at my edge.
I’d just had the spark of an idea to create my new ‘Beginners’ Guide to GEO’.

That’s when the voices started:
“Who do you think you are to teach GEO?!”
“Proper SEO experts are going to be absolutely FUMING with you!”
“You’ll get a TON of backlash!”
I didn’t immediately dismiss them. I never do.
Your body knows your truth. It always does.
Anytime my inner critic follows me to the edge of my comfort zone, I tune into my inner knowing, shut out the external noise and ask myself questions like this:
Will this information be valuable to my audience who want to make a sustained online income? YES.
Will it align with the copy and content writing and online business growth work I already sell? Yes.
Am I acting in integrity to offer this, with 100% belief in my ability to deliver what I promise? YES.
If I do get backlash, will I still stand behind my decision? Yes.

Decision made. Told the negative voices to fuck right off.
While they were doing that, I cracked on.
Guess what happened when I did it anyway?
Multiple people reached out to tell me offering this is “genius” and they they are grateful I am always “ahead of the curve”.
The number of people who have the hump? Zero.
LOTS of people have downloaded the free Beginner’s Guide and bought the GEO Discoverability Starter Kit.
And then something else, quite unexpected happened…
I fell in love!
Collaborating with ChatGPT to create those digital products was the most fun I think I’ve ever had with my work.
Because while using ChatGPT is easy, in the sense you just type words in and get words out, it’s also not straightforward.
Not if you want the end result to be quality, anyway.
And studying, stress-testing and improving the basic initial outputs brought several of my fave interests together in one activity…
Learning new things, questioning the answers to find the holes and writing about what I discover.
Waking up early filled with excitement to get back to it. Hours flying past through the day and ideas still popping in right through the evening.
Now I’m a bit obsessed.
That took me down another fun rabbit hole...
I made a “Find Me Fast Content Generator” custom GPT for my Starter Kit customers, to help them with:
Tailored ideas for standout social media posts that convert
Turning their social media content into storyselling emails that generate sales
And GEO optimised blog/Substack posts to boost their discoverability and recommendations
Trained it on 15 years of my writing and prompted to avoid the obvious AI copy tells.

I’m already having AI me write emails for actual me. Fun!

We talk often about how the world of online business is shifting.
